Dr Jane MacLeod

Jane is a GP, who studied at the University of Queensland. They did their General Practice training in the Northern Territory, including in remote communities.

Jane is passionate about inclusive health care and has special interests in neurodiversity, sexual and gender diversity, culturally-responsive health care and health and well-being of First Nations Peoples.

Jane is very experienced in sexual and reproductive health, LGBTIQA+ health and well-being, gender-affirming care, child and adolescent health and mental health. Jane has done additional mental health training and can see people for counselling after they have had a mental health care plan by their usual GP.

Jane sees patients requiring PEP or STI checks. 

Jane is a S100 HIV prescriber and offers comprehensive health care to people living with HIV.

Jane is experienced in gender-affirming care and transgender medicine. Jane currently works at Queensland Health Adult Gender Service at RBWH on Fridays. They recently worked at Queensland Children’s Gender Service. Jane uses the Informed Consent Model of Care for transgender and gender diverse people, but is also able to diagnose gender dysphoria, if required.

Jane performs minor procedures including contraceptive implant insertion and removal, intrauterine device insertion and removal (including for transmen), hormone implants and skin biopsies and excisions.
